What is salvation? Salvation is the free gift of eternal life that is made possible only through Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved.
Why do you need salvation? Mankind needs salvation because it is the only way to get to Heaven. John 3:3 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Those who have not been saved will spend eternity separated from God. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
How do you obtain salvation? In order to be saved you must first realize that you are a sinner and that you cannot make it to heaven on your own good works. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Secondly, you must recognize that salvation is made possible only by the grace of God. Ephesians 2:8-9For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 14:6Jesus saith unto him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Finally, you must believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins and that he was raised from the dead.
Romans 10:9-10That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Acts 16:31Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.
